The public is invited to attend the first open meeting toward creating a Natural Foods Co-op Grocery Store in Brookings.
The group is focused on bringing people together in the Brookings area to improve the food system of our community by addressing local and healthy food access for all members of our community, supporting local and sustainable food practices, and creating a community space for education and partnerships with local businesses and organizations.
Community input is a necessary step in creating a Co-op Grocery Store. The public meeting is open for all members of the community (future consumers, producers, food retail/food service providers and partners), and takes place Saturday, March 16th, 2019 at the Brookings Public Library. Get this meeting on your calendar by going to the Facebook event and selecting Going.
The meeting begins at 10 am in The Cooper Room with an informational presentation followed by open discussion and Q&A. Afterwards, we invite you to enjoy food and refreshments made with local products and provide us with any personal concerns, ideas, or valuable input that you may have.
